100 PAINTINGS FOR 100 YEARS

These 100 paintings (only 15 are shown here) came out of a residency at Rocky Mountain National Park in the summer of 2014. Ostensibly they honor the centennial year of the park, yet they also express the immersive quality of the experience and the park itself. They also invoke memory as attached to a place, that the land is deeply ingrained in our DNA; it resides in our subconscious, and is a part of us as much as we are a part of it.

They reflect the landscape of the park in its many permutations: plant life, geology and bodies of water in abstract images from different perspectives, creating a deconstructed landscape portrait of a significant place.  They were exhibited altogether at the McNichols Building, managed by of the city of Denver, CO in August-September, 2015.
